March: The Perfect Time to Start Something New

03.02.26

By: Ray SaVonne

By the time March arrives, the hype of January has faded, and honestly, that’s what makes it the perfect time to begin.

March is the quiet month that gently reminds you: you’re allowed to start something new just because you want to.

And this year, I decided to take that feeling seriously.

A New Season, A New Mission

Growing up, sports were always part of my world — but in a very specific way.

Football, basketball, and baseball were the main events. Those were the sports everyone talked about, the ones we watched, the ones we attended. They were familiar, comfortable, and honestly, they felt like the only options. But stepping into 2026 made me realize something:

There’s a whole world of experiences out there that I’ve never explored.

So I made it my mission this year to expand my sporting knowledge — to incorporate sports I’d heard about but never attended, and even discover ones I didn’t know existed at all. Not because I needed to become an expert… but because I wanted to try something new.

Saying Yes to the Unknown

So far, this adventure has already taken me places I didn’t expect. I’ve gone to NHL hockey games, cheered on the Dallas Stars, and experienced firsthand the energy, speed, and intensity of a sport I never grew up watching. I also attended the Dallas Open tennis tournament, seeing the skill, focus, and discipline it takes to compete at that level.

And next on my list is a professional women’s volleyball game — something completely new for me, and I’m honestly so excited about it!

None of these moments are life-altering in some huge dramatic way… but they are life-giving! They remind me how refreshing it is to step outside of routine and realize how much the world still has to offer.

The Beauty of Trying Something New

Starting something new doesn’t have to mean a complete life overhaul.

Sometimes it looks like:

  • Going somewhere you’ve never been

  • Learning about something you’ve never paid attention to

  • Trying a hobby you always brushed off

  • Saying yes to an experience that feels slightly unfamiliar

New adventures don’t have to be big to be meaningful. The point is movement. Curiosity. Growth. March is proof that seasons change — and so can we.

Your Future Self Will Thank You

If you’ve been feeling stuck, uninspired, or like your days have been blending together, let this be your reminder:

You are allowed to start something new.

You are allowed to try things just because.
You are allowed to explore without needing a perfect reason.
You are allowed to live a life that surprises you.

Seek the new adventure.

Take the trip.
Sign up for the class.
Go to the event.
Start the project.
Have the conversation.

Because one day, you’ll look back and realize the small yeses were shaping a fuller life.

So here’s to March-ing it up all 2026!—What will you start this season?

XO,

The Kléi
