Set Apart

Have you been feeling it, too? That quiet, undeniable shift in the air this year—a thirst for something more?
Not more stuff. But more depth.
More presence.
More truth.
More God.

If you've felt it rising in your spirit, you’re not alone. This year is awakening something in many of us—a holy discontent with surface-level faith and shallow distractions. It's a year where comfort no longer satisfies and convenience can’t carry us. We’re thirsting for what’s real. And for some, that longing is starting to take root.

There’s a moment in every believer’s walk where things begin to shift. When your relationship with Christ moves beyond convenience and into conviction. When you begin to lock in—truly aligning with His design, His will, and His voice above all others. And when that happens—everything changes—you begin to see the world differently. Your priorities shift. Your desires refine. Your standards elevate. You start to crave righteousness—not out of religious duty, but out of a deep longing to be close to the Father. But let’s be honest—this kind of surrender can be uncomfortable. It can be costly.

Jesus never sugarcoated that truth. In Luke 14:27–28, He says, “And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple. Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?”

Following Christ may cost you relationships, habits, comfort, popularity, even opportunities that don’t align with His purpose for your life. And yes, when the light of Christ shines through you, some people may distance themselves. Some may feel exposed by the truth you carry. And that’s okay. Even Jesus Himself was rejected. “He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain…” — Isaiah 53:3

And then there’s also the stigma that comes when your life starts looking noticeably different and set apart—when people start calling you “too churchy,” “boring,” “too deep,” or “doing the most.” Those types of labels alone can make you second-guess how boldly you walk in your faith. But here’s the thing: If seeking intimacy with the Creator makes us “boring” or “too churchy,” then so be it. The world may misunderstand your passion, but heaven sees your pursuit. “For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.” — Galatians 1:10

We weren’t called to blend in—we were called to be set apart. So don’t let fear of judgment or rejection water down your pursuit of The Kingdom of Christ. Don’t dim your light to make others more comfortable in the dark. The more we sit with Jesus, the more we see His majesty. And yes, His glory may intimidate the parts of us still clinging to the world, but that’s where transformation begins. That’s where the Spirit gets to work—refining us, pruning us, and preparing us for more. So if you’re in that place—where things are shifting, where God is calling you deeper—lean in. Don’t shrink back. Count the cost and keep going. Because in doing so, you are trading what’s temporary for what’s eternal. “For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever.” — 2 Corinthians 4:17

As you walk this set-apart path, know this: heaven is cheering you on, we’re cheering you on and every step you take is drawing you closer to the heart of the Father.

Here’s to being set apart and becoming who you were always meant to be!

The Kléi
